Psychosexual and relationship therapy for trans people, non-binary people, and anyone still questioning their gender, at whatever stage that’s at. You know your own gender. My job is to work with you from there, not test you on it.
Affirming, not just accepting
A space to explore exactly who you are
This is a space to explore your gender at your own pace, without needing to arrive with the right words, a diagnosis, or certainty about where you’ll land. You won’t need to explain the basics or defend your identity. That includes if you’re still questioning, if labels don’t quite fit yet, or if what fits changes over time. None of that needs to be resolved before we can do useful work together.
“Trans+” is the shorthand I use for trans people, non-binary people, and anyone questioning their gender. If you’re not sure which of those describes you, that’s alright, you don’t need to have decided before booking.
What we work on
Support that covers the whole picture
Gender identity & exploration
Names, pronouns and what gender means for you, explored without a fixed endpoint you're expected to reach.
Body image & dysphoria
Working through how you feel about your body, whether or not that's tied to medical transition, without shame attached.
Coming out & disclosure
To partners, family, new dates or old friends, at a pace that's actually yours.
Dating & relationships
Safety, disclosure and connection, dating as a trans or non-binary person in a world that doesn't always make that easy.
Minority stress & isolation
Processing the ongoing toll of navigating spaces, services and relationships that weren't built with you in mind.
Sex & intimacy through transition
How transition, social, medical or both, changes sex and intimacy, and how to navigate that with a partner or on your own.
How I work
You set the pace, I follow it
Sessions are led by what you actually want to work on, not a checklist. Some people want a handful of sessions on one specific thing, others want ongoing support through a longer process. Either way, you’re not required to have a fixed identity, a diagnosis, or a plan for what happens next before we start. This is a space to think out loud, not perform certainty.
Where I'm coming from
I'm white and cis, and I take that seriously
I’m white and cis, which means I hold a privileged position in society that most of my trans and non-binary clients don’t. I don’t share the specific experience of navigating the world as trans or non-binary, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. If you’d feel more comfortable with a therapist who shares that experience directly, that’s a completely valid thing to want, and I’d rather you had that than settle for me.
What I can offer is the work I do put in: staying current on the reading and training, and learning directly from the trans people in my life who I love, not just from books. So that work doesn’t fall on you. You’re here to focus on yourself, not to explain the basics or manage my learning curve.
I also know the world isn’t a particularly trans inclusive place right now, and that carrying that, on top of everything else, takes a real toll. That context comes into the room with you, and I won’t treat it as separate from whatever you’re actually here to talk about.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a diagnosis or to be under a gender clinic to see you?
No. You don’t need a diagnosis, a referral, or to be on any waiting list to access this kind of support. I also understand just how inaccessible this kind of life-saving care is currently.
What if I'm still questioning and don't know if I'm trans or non-binary?
That’s a completely valid reason to book. You don’t need to have landed on an answer, or ever land on one, for this to be useful. This is often the work.
Do I need to have already chosen a name or pronouns?
No. We can use whatever you’re going by right now, including “still figuring it out”, and that can change from one session to the next.
Do you work with partners of trans or non-binary people too?
Yes. Partners are welcome to join sessions in couples therapy.
Is this confidential from my GP or gender clinic?
Yes. What’s said in sessions is strictly confidential and I keep very minimal notes for your protection. The only time I would have to share with others is if you were a harm to yourself or others just like any therapist.
Not quite ready for Sex & Relationship Therapy?
I have created an in-depth online course that you can complete in your own time on neurodivergence and intimacy. Easy to follow and recorded like a podcast, so you don't have to read lots.
