When sex, desire or identity need working through, psychosexual therapy is where you start
For low desire, pain, performance anxiety, questions about who you are, or a body that won’t cooperate with what your mind wants. Therapy for the sex and intimacy stuff that’s genuinely hard to say out loud. This work can be done individually or with partners depending on the presenting issue.
HOW THIS IS DIFFERENT
Sex problems rarely stay in the bedroom
Not just physical.
Bodies, minds, relationships and history are treated as connected, not separate problems to refer out.
Not just in your head.
"It's probably anxiety" isn't the end of the conversation. We look at what's actually going on, together.
Not a quick fix.
No scripts, no generic exercises copied from a leaflet. Your body and your history shape the plan.
SEX & FUNCTION
Sex and sexual function
When sex itself has stopped working the way you want it to, whether that’s too little interest, too much pain, or a body that won’t do what you’re asking of it, this is where we start. Most of this comes up in couples work, but plenty of people come on their own.
- Desire (libido) issues. Low, mismatched, or missing altogether. The goal isn't to force it back to where it "should" be, it's to understand what's actually changed.
- Pain during sex (vaginismus, dyspareunia). We work with the fear response around penetration, not just the physical symptom.
- Unreliable erections. Anxiety, pressure and physiology are usually all tangled up together, and it's more workable than it feels in the moment.
- Delayed ejaculation. Practical, unembarrassing work on timing, sensation and pressure.
- Delayed or absent orgasm. For any body. We look at what's getting in the way, physically and mentally.
- Compulsive sexual behaviour ('sex addiction'). A non-shaming look at sexual behaviour that feels out of your control.
- Porn use concerns. How much, what kind, or what it's doing to a relationship. No moral panic here.
- Sexual anxiety and performance anxiety. Watching yourself from the outside during sex instead of being in it. It's a pattern you can unlearn.
Getting started
Sessions, in person or online
Sessions run online across the UK, or in person in Brighton, whichever suits you better. Most people start with a free initial consultation, a low pressure way to ask questions and get a feel for whether we’re a good fit before committing to ongoing therapy.
IDENTITY & SELF
Identity & Self
Sometimes the work isn’t about a specific sexual function at all. It’s about how you understand yourself, your body and your desires, and how that shapes your sex life and relationships.
- Sexual identity and orientation. Space to explore, question or make sense of who you're attracted to, whatever age or stage you're at.
- Gender identity and gender dysphoria.Working through how gender shows up in your sense of self, your body and your sex life.
- Body image and its relationship to sex. How you feel about your body shapes what you let yourself experience during sex.
- Shame, guilt and negative beliefs about sex. Where they came from, and why they're still running the show.
- Neurodivergence and how it shows up in relationships and intimacy. Sensory needs, communication differences and masking, worked with rather than treated as a problem.
- Kink, BDSM and sexual interests. A non-judgemental space to talk about what you're into, without having to justify it first.
- Coming out at any age. Whatever stage of life or relationship you're in when it comes up.
- Masculine identity and ideologies. Unpicking the scripts about sex, performance and masculinity that aren't actually serving you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a diagnosis to book?
No formal diagnosis is required for autism, ADHD or AuDHD – self-identified neurodivergence is entirely valid here. And I totally understand just how long and inaccessible those waitlists are.
Does ADHD or being AuDHD really affect sex drive?
Yes, dopamine regulation, time-blindness, sensory processing, medication side effects and rejection sensitivity can all affect desire, arousal and how intimacy gets initiated. These are real, common patterns, not personal failings.
Can my partner come to sessions too?
Yes, see Neurodivergent Couples Therapy for mixed-neurotype and both-neurodivergent relationship support.
Is this therapy or education?
Both are available – ongoing 50-minute therapy sessions, or a one-off 90-minute directive session for practical guidance if you’re not ready for, or don’t need, ongoing therapy. There will always be education embedded into my therapy sessions.
Not quite ready for Sex & Relationship Therapy?
I have created an in-depth online course that you can complete in your own time on neurodivergence and intimacy. Easy to follow and recorded like a podcast, so you don't have to read lots.
